How to make things happen?

What a great idea I have came up with… blank sheet of paper. It's so different in a hands of professional artist rather than novice. So what is so different about it? An experienced artist simply has experience with the tools. Perhaps he has his own additional tools with him and plenty of developed skills. This is no different with game programming/design as I am concerned. So if you look at any form of art you will see the same process.

What I am concerned is to figure out when the work is finished, when can you take another sheet of paper and start almost from scratch. Because my motto was: "It doesn't matter what you do, but how far you get". Let me explain it to the most extreme. Let's say you're good thief… well you get better and better at stealing things. But perhaps what we would consider "evil" is actually holding you back from the real challenges. In fact by engaging with destructive behavior you may end up in jail and lose opportunity to get better. Sure enough the jailing system or policing system… or the WHOLE system is outdated, but at-least it works here. Because in deep down we somehow know all these things and we avoid harming ourselves. I liked the quote from Mark Passio "I am not here to tell you anything new, anything that hasn't been said". This really makes me question… if we know all this stuff deep down, why am I trying to pull it back up and make you chew on it again.

Let's say I was able to read myself and others and found truth that we always held within ourselves. But there is still something that holds that truth back… that doesn't let it flow. In fact if you don't know the truth, the actions you will make will be more or less random. Sure you can learn a lot by acting random and then filtering out the not so successful actions, but we have brains to predict and make choices that would lead us through shortcuts to the real success. So back to my motto… blank sheet method doesn't destroy the idea of trying to get as far as possible, but it does destroy the idea that you can come back and improve your previous work. And by improve I don't mean just taking another sheet and redrawing. I mean taking the not so finished painting that you did and adding a few strokes. I believe it's literally impossible to answer this question because both answers are correct. You should be able to take a new sheet and improve the old one. And even my motto might still be true.

This is why I love being honest. Because I remember an old saying: "lie's legs are short". You simply can't get far without being honest with yourself, by cheating… because in the end you will neither be able to improve the old nor will you know more when taking the new sheet. I suppose you have to have some special paintings you just place in your room and look at every day in order to find if you want to improve something. And also you should try those blank sheet moments with new paintings, with new ideas… and if you really think about it… this is exactly what your life is about. Every single day is a new painting, but every single day… you are the same person living your life, painting yourself, improving yourself. Without doing both, you can't get far. Thing is… you will never know when it's going to be THAT day. But you will know who is going to make it happen.

Such a beautiful duality of life. And tell you what… it is all within the "wheel of life" I have created… I have painted long time ago and constantly added knowledge to it. This really helps me figure out how to make things happen. How you have to make little new things and in the same time dig a collective hole, a bigger picture. Because every time you look back at the same picture you paint every day… you can see EVERY day when you learned something new and you just wanted it to be in that picture. That picture must have ALL the knowledge, all the struggle.

This is the ultimate rule of life… and deep down you probably knew about it. If you think about this in every action you take, how will that help? Well you should be able to forget any struggle, it should ease your way forward, because with knowledge there is no fear. When you know what movie to watch or which game to play or simply what to do and how to do it… you enjoy it. Simple as that. Knowledge DOES set you free from any bondage. Knowledge is perfection and is the only god in this universe. Oh I wish I knew many more things… I wish I had people that would help me learn and would learn from me. And I wish to someday updated the outdated system that gathered dust after all this time… untouched, despite of how many blank sheets have been thrown away. My idea with touch the system we live under… I can promise you that.
